Description
AMEDNMENT 0001 HAS BEEN UPLOADED TO ATTACHMENTS The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Mid-Atlantic, Public Works Department Maine, is seeking business firms capable of providing a Steam to HW HX heating system in Building 20 at�Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY), in Kittery, ME. The Northern American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is�236210. The procurement method is�Total�Small Business Set-Aside, FAR Part 19. Proposals are due�12/22/2020�by 1400 and can be submitted electronically to Contract Specialist, Kara Holwick, at kara.holwick@navy.mil. Project Description: The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary for the following work items: HX-1 must have its tube bundle replaced while its system continues to provide heat to lab spaces for year round humidity control. HX-1 will have a bypass and two closely spaced TEE's installed for hot water injection from HX- 20. HX-20 will have a load bypass installed and two TEE's separated by a valve to utilize the systems pumps. The two heat exchangers will be connected by (2) 2"" carbon steel pipes run through the ceiling, chasing an existing steam line. These pipes will be approximately 130 linear feet round trip, shall be fully concealed from the occupied spaces and insulated per specifications. Both interconnected systems and crossover piping shall contain 30% propylene glycol at the completion of the project. The hot water output temperature of HX-20 must be increased to offset the reduced energy transfer of the glycol. Hazardous materials may be present due to the age of the building. Period of Performance: The anticipated period of performance for this contract is 90�calendar days. Contract Magnitude: The magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000 IAW DFARS 236.204. Liquidated Damages: Liquidated Damages will be assessed in the amount of $275.49 per calendar day. Site Walk:�A site visit is scheduled for Wednesday 02 December 2020 at 1400.
