Description
Construction Project: Chief Joseph Dam Intake and Tailrace Cranes Replacement, Bridgeport, WA. � Work includes delivery and installation of a new 50-ton Intake Gantry Crane, modification of the overhead power conductors to include adding a ground conductor, removal of the existing 50-ton intake gantry crane located on the intake deck of the Chief Joseph Powerhouse, delivery and installation of the new 18-ton Tailrace Gantry Crane, installation of a new overhead conductor system for the Tailrace Gantry Crane, and removal of the existing 18-ton tailrace gantry crane located on the tailrace deck of the Chief Joseph Powerhouse. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing the labor, supervision, equipment, materials and expertise to: a.� Design, fabricate, deliver, erect, test, and certify a complete new 50-ton Intake Gantry Crane for the Chief Joseph Powerhouse.� The crane is comprised of a 50-ton main hoist trolley, 20/10-ton auxiliary hoist trolley, and a 20-ton hammerhead hoist. b.� Design, fabricate, deliver, and certify new intake bulkhead and intake gate and hoist lifting beams. c.� Perform structural analysis of the existing dead-end supports for the power supply overhead conductor to determine if a fourth grounding conductor can be added to the existing poles. d.� Perform structural analysis of the existing gantry crane bumper stops. e.� Deconstruct and remove from site the existing intake gantry crane. f.� Design, fabricate, deliver, erect, test, and certify a complete new 18-ton Tailrace Gantry Crane for the Chief Joseph Powerhouse. g.� Design, fabricate, and install a new wall mounted conductor system on the downstream exterior wall of the powerhouse.� h.� Design, fabricate, deliver, and certify new draft tube bulkhead lifting beams. i.� Deconstruct and remove from site the existing tailrace gantry crane. Work for each crane is expected to be performed in a substantially parallel schedule in order to minimize the duration until the Project is able to place both new cranes into operation. Expected magnitude of construction is between $10 million and $25 million.
