Description
Period of Performance: 1st choice: ������ 18 January 2021 Vessel Details: Cutter�will be moored in Charleston, SC during period of performance. Access to the facility needs to be coordinated with Vessel POC once dates are determined. Description of Problem: High pressure inside the ASW piping over extended period of time created cracks in the piping. A pressure regulating valve was found to be inoperable as well. The purpose of the project is to renew the cracked piping, and associated fittings, while also replacing the inoperable pressure regulating valve. Work to be performed: Drawing references: 225-WLB-256-001, rev: U, 225-WLB-256-017 Contractor to crop out and renew 15 linear feet of 4� pipe, 3 linear feet of 2 �� pipe, and 6 linear feet of 1 �� pipe as indicated by ships force in vicinity of the Auxiliary Machinery Room and Main Motor Room. Material utilized will be IAW that specified in Drawing 225-WLB-256-001. List of additional fittings to renew/replace are as follows: Two 90 degree turns in 4 inch piping One butterfly valve, SB 150 PSI ANSI flanged, bronze with NCA trim, ASME SB61 or SB 62, MIL-F-1183 Two 1 �� gate valves, SB 150 PSI ANSI flanged, bronze with NCA trim, ASME SB61 or SB 62, MIL-F-1183 Six 1 �� unions Contractor will remove, rebuild, test and reinstall one valve, 90 degree 6� Cla-Val 2100S, 150 PSI ANSI flanged, bronze body, bronze trim IAW MS-18282. Return the valve to design functionality. Contractor will conduct all hot work IAW SFLC Standard Specification 0740, Welding and Allied Processes. Upon replacement of the piping, contractor will reinstall all interferences removed, renew the gaskets disturbed, and preserve disturbed piping IAW CG standard specification 6310, Requirements for Preservation of Ship Structures. Interferences include, but are not limited to: brackets, insulation, piping, paint, deck plates and electrical. Contractor will be required to obtain and maintain the marine chemist certification required to work on the piping inside the cutter.
