The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) seeks to obtain a list of sources interested in fulfilling the requirements for a MK 45 GUN Mount. The MK 45 is an effective weapon for anti-surface, Naval Surface Fire Support, and anti-air warfare missions. This gun mount is currently fielded on aboard the United States Navy Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) class destroyers and Ticonderoga (CG 47) class cruisers. Additionally, there is currently seven (7) countries of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers for both technical support and training of the MK45 MOD 1 (13) and MK45 MOD 2 Gun Mount (24). Their support is managed by Naval Sea Systems Command (PMS 326) or PEO IWS under FMS cases. Capable of firing 5-inch conventional ammunition 13 nautical miles the MK 45 consists of the Gun Mount MK 45 and the Ammunition Hoist MK 6. In addition, the white paper should delineate technical trade spaces, in which changes to the performance specification requirements could reduce technical risks. Finally, the Government has highlighted some key areas in the performance specification that are of particular interest and those items should be addressed in the responses. Companies responding to this RFI should provide a response not to exceed thirty (30) pages.
