Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This sole source synopsis is for informational purposes only. The U.S. Government intends to award a sole source purchase order to provide maintenance, repair, and warranty replacement services on Government owned OEM Endoscopes and Camera Equipment located at Brooke Army Medical Center JBSA Fort Sam Houston, TX. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is �811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; the SBA Small Business Size Standard is 1250 employees; and, the PSC is 6550 - Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment- Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies. The proposed purchase order will be awarded as a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) to: KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, Inc. 2151 E. Grand Avenue El Segundo, CA 90245-5017 Description of Services or Supplies: This is a basic service purchase order that provides full service, repair, and warranty for government owned Karl Storz endoscope and camera equipment. The warranty provides Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.� � This sole source requirement is issued under the statutory authority of Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items, 41 U.S.C. as implemented by FAR Subpart 13.501(a)(1)(ii), sole source (Karl Storz, Inc.) under the authority of the simplified procedures for certain commercial items. Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc. is the only authorized source for service, repair and maintenance of the Karl Storz Endoscopes owned by the Government. Karl Storz - OEM exclusive proprietary licenses for all repairs. The service for the maintenance and repair of Karl Storz Endoscopes cannot be procured competitively. his notice does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB or RFP in the future.� The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice.�
