Description
The United States Coast Guard, Civil Engineering Unit � Providence, has a construction requirement to replace the pre-fabricated vehicle barrier with electric actuator, both inbound and outbound for Base Boston, Boston, MA. Base Scope of Work The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, and disposal required for replacement of the vehicle barrier security gate with electric actuator. �The security gate will include a safety loop to prevent the activation of the AVB as the vehicle transverse the barrier activation zone.� Additionally, there will be two control activation stations; one in the guard shack and the second at center lane island and an in-ground safety control loop to prevent accidental drop on delayed vehicle passing. �The work will be completed at USCG Base Boston, Boston, MA. This intent is a Basis of Design with the following specifications: VERTICAL CRASH ARM RATING MINIMAL: � K12/L3 � 15,000 lb (6810 kg) at 50 mph (80 kph) � K4 � 15,000 lb (6810 kg) at 30 mph (50 kph) �IMPACT ENERGY MINIMAL: � K12 = 1,253 ft-kips/1,699 kJ � K4 = 611 ft-kips/451 kJ The estimated cost range of this procurement is between $300,000 and $500,000.���� TO CLARIFY - This solicitation will be negotiated under FAR Part 15.� The solicitiation will identify the evaluation factors. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 18 December 2020.� The tentative date set for receipt of proposals is Tuesday, January 19, 2021 by 4:00p.m., local time Warwick, RI. The overall period of performance is 120 days from the Notice to Proceed. All relevant solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings may be accessed for download beginning on the date of issue on this website: �http://beta.SAM.gov .� Any amendments to the solicitation will be posted on this website (beta.SAM.gov).� Offerors are required to acknowledge receipt of any and all amendments.
