- Description
- End Item: Abrams FoV Response Date: Day | Month | Year 25 | 01 (Jan)| 2021 The items included with this Item description are vaneaxial fan assemblies or an axial fan impeller. An axial fan impeller is a type of fan that causes gas to flow through it in an axial direction, parallel to the fan axle. Maximum gas pressure is observed at the discharge of the impeller blade and minimum pressure on the side opposite to the discharge side. A vaneaxial fan assembly is an axial fan impeller contained within a housing that includes vanes designed to straighten air flow to more efficiently pass through a heat exchanger to maximize heat rejection. Item: 26972, IMPELLER, FAN, AXIAL, 05624, NSN: 4140-01-207-3577 Min Qty: 9 EA Max Qty: 341 EA This part is the impeller element contained within both vaneaxial fan assemblies 12347055-2 and 12388111. It accepts up to 26 shaft hp input power to provide maximum air flow output for the fan assembly. Two (2) of these are included in the Abrams FoV TDP. Item: 12347055-2, COOLING FAN WITHOUT GEARBOX, 19207, NSN: 4140-01-329-4836 Min Qty: 9 EA Max Qty: 470 EA This vaneaxial fan assembly provides up to 7,500 SCFM at 12 iwg for cooling the right transmission oil cooler heat exchanger. The assembly weighs no more than 75 lb, about 17 inch diameter, and one (1) of these included in the Abrams FoV TDP. Item: 12388109, FAN, 19207, N NSN: 4140-01-406-8167 Min Qty: 63 EA Max Qty: 1,779 EA This vaneaxial fan assembly provides up to 1,000 SCFM at 17 iwg necessary in removing heavier debris from outside air (scavenge) intended for main engine induction. The assembly weighs no more than 25 lb, about 9 inch diameter, and one (1) of these included in the Abrams FoV TDP. Item: 12388111, FAN, 19207, NSN: 4140-01-406-8169 Min Qty: 12 EA Max Qty: 360 EA This vaneaxial fan assembly provides up to 7,500 SCFM at 12 iwg for cooling the left transmission oil cooler heat exchanger. The assembly weighs no more than 83 lb, about 17 inch diameter, and one (1) of these included in the Abrams FoV TDP. GE Aviation Systems LLC has developed, tested, and obtained Government approval for these items for application in the M1 Abrams tank at their own cost. Only GE Aviation Systems LLC has the capability to supply the vaneaxial fan assemblies or an axial fan impeller.
