THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS RFI OR REIMBURSE ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS RFI. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Solicitation, an Invitation for Bids, a Request for Proposal (RFP), a Request for Quotation (RFQ), or an indication the Government will contract for the items contained in this announcement.  All information received in response to this RFI marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly.  Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. PURPOSE The purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research to find qualified vendors and to assist Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 in determining if a future contract effort can be competitively awarded for a Set-Aside. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this effort is 339113 with the Small Business Size Standard of 750 employees.  If the Government determines there are qualified vendors this requirement, a solicitation will be published and posted on the Contracting Opportunities website.  The Government will use this information solely to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for this procurement.  INTRODUCTION This requirement is for the purchase a brand name Purist Leg Positioning System to be used in the OR at the W.G Hefner VAMC. The W. G. Hefner VAMC requires the Purist Leg Positioner and is the only device of its kind found to meet the needs of the medical center. The Purist is the only mobile device that offers full mobility for operative leg and non-operative leg support required for direct anterior hip replacement. It serves the same functionality as a large fracture table that is much more expensive and requires more square footage that the medical center operating rooms has. The government is anticipating that this will be a brand-name only requirement but encourages all vendors that can meet or exceed the item descriptions below to respond to this sources sought. If providing a like item/system, please include brochures with attachments/information/part numbers to allow the government to assess whether your items/system will suffice for this requirement. REQUIREMENTS NOTE: The VHA Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) is conducting a market survey to find qualified vendors who can provide the following item(s) for the W.G. Hefner Salisbury Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144: Item Number Description Unit 1 Item/Stock # 6813100 -PURIST Leg Positioning System (includes Traction Boot size M) 1 EA 2 Item/Stock # 32114902 - Perineal Operative Post (POP, all included) 1 EA 3 Item/Stock # 6813009 - Opposite Leg Holder (Complete, with Extension Rail US/EU) 1 EA DESCRIPTION OF INFORMATION REQUESTED Vendors with a GSA schedule shall provide the contract number of that schedule and the expiration date as well as product NAICS codes.  All items should be clearly identified if they are scheduled items or open market items.
