Description: 502 CONS/JBKAA intends to make a sole-source award to Hill�s Pet Nutrition for Hill�s Science Diet and Hill�s Prescription Diet dog food. The dog food is to be delivered on a recurring basis throughout the length of the contract. Delivery of the food must be made within seven calendar days of receiving an order and the age of the food must be within three months of the manufacture date; all orders must be delivered in full. This requirement is for the sustainability of 750 to 1,000 military working dogs (MWD) at any given time. The Department of Defense (DoD) MWD Program is required to follow all policies stipulated in Army Regulation (AR) 40-905, Veterinary Health Services. Section 5-5a.(2) of this regulation specifies that the U.S. Army Veterinary Service and the Director, DoD MWD Veterinary Service (DODMWDVS) shall determine the standard diet for the MWD Program. Hill�s Science Diet has been identified as the only dog food meeting all the dietary standards required. Interested persons may state their interest and capability of�responding to this requirement for all/every product noted above.� However, this notice of intent is neither a request for competitive quotes nor a solicitation for offers. All quotes/offers for received by the closing date and time of this Notice of Intent will be considered by the Government. �A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
