- SUBJECT:� Shore Protection Project, Segment III, Beach Renourishment 2020-2021, Broward County, Florida SOLICITATION NUMBER:� W912EP21B0002 RESPONSE DATE:� January 22, 2021 CONTRACT SPECIALIST & PHONE NUMBER:� Timothy Humphrey, (904) 232-1072 DESCRIPTION OF WORK:� Project work will renourish 7.3 miles of critically eroded shoreline immediately south of Port Everglades Inlet in Segment III along two placement areas. A 1.5 mile long segment within the Mitzel-Eula Johnson State Park (Park; south jetty - R-92) and a 5.8 mile long segment within the cities of Dania, Hollywood, and Hallandale (HHD; R-98.3 to R-128). The beach fill template between R-86 to R-92 includes a flat upper berm at an elevation of +8.4 ft NAVD88, sloping down at 1V:50H to a flat lower berm at an elevation of +6.4 ft NAVD88. Non-federal dune and coastal vegetation shall also be constructed within the limits of the park at the locations shown on the drawings.�The beach fill template between R-98.3 to R-128 includes a flat upper berm at an elevation of +5.4 ft NAVD88, sloping down at 1V:50H to a flat lower berm at an elevation of +3.9 ft NAVD88. The upper berm crests extend landward to tie-in with the existing grade or existing structures. The seaward limit of the lower berm crests slope down at 1V:10H to tie-in with the existing grade.�The beach templates described above includes a +0.5 foot vertical tolerance allowance. Sand for the project will be sourced from upland mine(s) and truck hauled to the beach fill area. The upland source(s)�will be selected by the Contractor meeting criteria required in Section 35 30 00 BEACH FILL and will be listed as approved within environmental resource agency permits. See Section 01 57 20 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.��Project work also includes, but is not limited to, vibration control and monitoring, environmental species monitoring, and turbidity monitoring. All work will be required to be completed not later than April 30, 2023. PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS:� The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on or about 23 December 2020 and bids will be due on or about 22 January 2021. NAICS Code 237990, size standard $39.5 million.
