- SUBJECT: �Request for Information- VAFB North and South Base Commerical Internet Infrastructure 1.� THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes- it does not constitute a Request for Proposals (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contact for any supply or service whatsoever. Furthermore, the Government is not at this time seeking quotations and will not accept unsolicited offers. Interested vendors are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party�s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: https://www.fbo.gov. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. ����������� FAR 52.215-3 Request for Information of Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) a. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI. b. �Although �proposal� and �offeror� are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. c. This�Request for Information�is issued for the purpose of market research. �������� 2.� The 30th Contracting Squadron (30 CONS) is conducting market research to identify potential contractors that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to provide commercial internet services to Vandenberg AFB to include both the North and South coverage areas. The NAICS code for this effort is 517311 �Wired Telecommunications Carriers�� and the PSC is D309 �IT and Telecom- Information and Data Broadcasting or Data Distribution�. 3. There will be�meetings held with industry�on 18 February 2020 in Lompoc, CA 93436�to discuss commerical internet services and Point of Presence capabilities on North and South Vandenberg Air Force Base. The Government�s intent is to expand VAFB current broadband communication capability to meet current Launch Service Providers (LSPs) requirements by enhancing our existing infrastructure.� 4.� Requests to attend the event on 18 February 2020 are requested to be provided no later than 13�February�2020 via e-mail to Lt Jasmine Toye at Jasmine.toye.1@us.af.mil and Mr. Brandon Harrison at brandon.harrison.15@us.af.mil. Any questions must be submitted in writing via email to the aforementioned personnel. Contractor capability statements are requested before 13 February 2020 if not already submitted. 5.� The information that is received from this RFI will be used to make the best decision on how to proceed with a potential future�acquisition. Information received will not be shared with other potential offerors.
