- The Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) provides national authorities quality technical measurements to monitor nuclear treaty compliance and develops advanced proliferation monitoring technologies to preserve our nation�s security. It is the sole organization in the federal government whose mission is to detect and report technical data from foreign nuclear explosions. AFTAC uses management information systems and software applications in the fulfillment of its mission.� Systems and software require maintenance and sustainment to ensure security and reliability. In addition to maintenance and sustainment, software development is required to keep pace with newly identified areas of interest and to keep pace with technological advancements.
