- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY�- Solicitations are not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Bureau of Prisons has a future requirement for Ambulance Services for inmates at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Devens located in Ayer, MA. The NAICS Code is 621910 (Size Standard: $16.5 million). This solicitation is being issued as restricted to small businesses. All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the industry and in compliance with all Federal and State policies and regulations. The contractor will provide services in accordance with the Statement of Work. The contractor will be responsible for provide the safe and secure transportation of inmates by means of either BLS or ALS ambulance services in order to transport medically impaired prisoners, of various security levels, that are escorted by BOP staff to and from designated medical facilities. Services may be required at unexpected times to include weekends, Federal holidays, and during non-normal hours. The dates and times of services will be rendered on an as needed basis as determined by FMC Devens' medical staff. The contractor will provide services within fifteen (15) minutes following a telephone ordered being placed by FMC Devens' staff. Services must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 52 weeks a year. FMC Devens is a Care Level IV facility which may result in the fluctuation of ambulance services that is needed in order to properly care for the inmate population in accordance with the institutional mission. The contractor must have the ability to transport several inmates throughout the course of the day as there is no predicate forecast available to estimate the need of this service. There may be instances where more than one ambulance will be required at one time. The contractor shall be responsible for responsiveness, adherence to all service requests, technical quality of work, and commitment to customer satisfaction. The contractor shall ensure all personnel will respect and maintain the basic rights of the inmate population receiving services. The Government contemplates awarding a single requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from the forthcoming solicitation. A Government solicitation document to provide these services is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary. The Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The solicitation will be made available on or about February 1, 2021 and will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities website at beta.sam.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
