Description
Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build Renovate Elevators 1 through 4 Construction project at the Marion VA Medical Center (VAMC) located at 2401 W. Main St, Marion, IL 62959. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The primary intent of this Construction effort is to modernize four (4) existing overhead traction elevators on the Marion campus. The elevators in question are located adjacent to the wall which separates buildings 1 and 38. There are two (2) paired elevators in building 1 (designated Elevators 1 and 2) and two (2) paired elevators in building 38 (designated Elevators 3 and 4). The Building 1 elevators were originally installed in 1971 and upgraded in 1988 when the Building 38 elevators were added. The work will include all tasks indicated or implied by the project drawings and specifications. The basic scope will consist of mechanical, electrical and communication upgrades to all elevator systems as well as upgrades to the HVAC systems which regulate the environment in the elevator machine rooms as well as upgrades to the electrical power distribution network which serves the elevator systems. Minor architectural and hazardous material mitigation activities are also part of the work scope. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Invitation for Bid (IFB) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about November 5, 2020. The period of performance is approximately 255 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to joshua.slapnicker@va.gov.
