- Description
- This is a public notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 � Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions.� Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Keyport intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).� A firm-fixed price contract will be issued to Alpha 7 Technologies Inc. 3732 N. Kenmore Ave. Unit 1, Chicago, IL, 60613-2906; for installation and integration of Maritime Situational Awareness System (MSAS) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system on two foreign military ships.� Alpha 7 is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the MSAS onboard the two ships and is the only vendor that can conduct development of MSAS software package with IFF update. The period of performance (PoP) of the intended contract shall run for 2 years and is valued at an estimated amount below the simplified acquisition threshold (defined as less than $250,000) for the entire PoP.� The requirement includes 4 Contract Line Items (CLINS):� 0001 � Installation and Integration of IFF System on one ship, 0002 � Installation and Integration of IFF System on a second ship, 0003 � Other Direct Costs (ODCs), and 0004 � Contract Data List Requirements (CDRLs). The attached Statement of Work includes further details. This announcement constitutes as the only public notice with exception to the award notice, at which time a redacted J&A will be published within 14 days of award.� This public notice accomplishes the following: Notice of NUWC Keyport�s intent to sole source to Alpha 7 Technologies Inc. Synopsizing the requirements in accordance with the FAR. The following attachments are included in this notice: Attachment 1:� Statement of Work� In accordance to FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.� Any questions must be submitted in writing via e-mail to Mr. Paul Berglund at paul.b.berglund@navy.mil.
