Description
This is Amendment to this FBO posting, originally posted in Ocotober 2020. This posting corrects the estimated construction cost as stated below. Offerors have been selected and job walks already compleleted. SUBJECT - CT1701 RENOVATIONS This is a Firm Fixed Priced, Design-Build (DB) project with an estimate construction cost ranging from $8.1M to 10.2M.The location will be at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, located in Menlo Park, CA. The request for proposal package will be released in mid January 2021 along with the specifications. Project: This project isfor the delivery of two 6MW each cooling towers. The existing Cooling Tower (CT) 1701 has reached its end of life and represents a significant risk to SLAC science research, and other activities that require cooling tower water. The current facility was built in the mid-60s, it is in deteriorating condition and requires significant maintenance effort for its functioning. The existing cooling tower has 4 cells (A, B, C, D). The new replacement cooling tower at CT1701 will have 2 cells (6MW each) with cell D remaining operational for redundancy. The project will revitalize the cooling tower water supply for loops 1702 & 1703, and replace the oversized/failing existing CT1701 with a new cooling tower. The new system will have higher efficiency, lower cost of operation, and reduce water consumption. In addition, the project will retire approximately $1.8M in deferred maintenance. Evaluation Criteria Includes, but not limited to: Has the company previously worked at SLAC or a DOE Facility? Similar projects currently working on? Projects completed within the last calendar year? Experience with Design-Build setup? Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) for the last 3 years. Bonding capacity Has California Contractor's License been revoked within the past 5 years? Has the company been debarred from any US Government projects in the last 5 years? Does the company have a local presence in the SF Bay Area? Will the company be able to meet the schedule delivery for 12/2021?
