Description
The Support Equipment and Vehicles Program Office at Robins, AFB, Georgia AFLCMC/WNZ has a requirement for a six-year, firm-fixed price, Requirements-type contract for the procurement of Deicers, Aircraft Deicers, (Aircraft) Deicing Trucks, and (Aircraft) Deicing Units (hereafter referred to as �Aircraft Deicers�). There are two general classifications of Aircraft Deicers: a Class A, Truck Mounted unit (NSN: 1730005556205YW) that can de/anti-ice and clean all but the upper tail sections of C-5 and C-17 airframes; and, a Class B an Extended Reach unit (NSN: 1730014955449YW) provided with the extended reach necessary to effectively de/anti-ice C-5 and C-17 horizontal stabilizers. The contract will be a basic contract period of 24 months and four annual option periods of 12 months each, with best estimated quantities for Class A BEQ:� 34; Class B BEQ:� 23. A basic contract period of 24 months will allow the time required for the offeror to design, produce, and test one each First Article unit and conduct testing of the two types of deicer units.� Both classes of spraying units include boom-mounted enclosed cabs from which de/anti-icing and decontamination operations are performed. The spraying units are capable of the controlled application of heated deicing fluid, deicing fluid delivered via forced air and/or high efficiency nozzles, and unheated anti-icing fluid. The Class A Deicer reaches a boom height of 42 ft with a minimum tank capacity of 1,600 gal. The Class B Deicer reaches a boom height of 75 ft with a minimum tank capacity of 2,600 gal. The vehicle is a modified commercial item comprised of a chassis mounted, diesel powered, spraying unit which are capable of deicing, anti-icing, cleaning and decontaminating the entire range of airframes in the USAF inventory. The release of the solicitation is anticipated as 10 December 2020.
