Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price modification for contract 75D301-20-C-08495 to Children�s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for Perinatal COVID-19 in the United States. Children�s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has started research with creating a robust system to review outcomes of pregnant women with COVID and their newborn infants. CHOP has formed collaborative networks to recruit registry participation to further knowledge.� As of 4/28/2020, the registry contained data on 84 mother/infant pairs. Since then it has grown exponentially. The project is currently collecting data and has 291 activated centers (hospitals and birth centers) with� 5,575 mother-infant pairs. They have a dashboard https://my.visme.co/view/ojq9qq8e-npc-19-registry�� where they provide us with the most up to date information.�� Findings thus far have shown significant need to continue this project with CHOP. An extension of 12 months would give historical and provide timely and more robust data for the ongoing pandemic. The information collected will contribute to a greater understanding of the potential modes, risk factors, and rates of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy and the health implications for the newborn. Pregnant women and newborns are vulnerable and considered especially hard to reach populations. CHOP is uniquely qualified to leverage the existing registry and share timely data summaries through a dashboard that the government would not otherwise have access to.� This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 3:00 P.M.
