Description
The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) intends to issue a sole source contract to University of Dayton for performance on FA8650-21-P-4120 to provide support to mitigate loss due to intellectual property (IP) theft and losses. Under AF 2030 Science & Technology Strategy, employees working in research, science, engineering, contracting and any other areas where IP may be present require an understanding of intellectual property (IP) and processes associated with identifying, licensing, patenting and protecting IP. To enable proper training for laboratory employees, the AFRL/JA office, along with various private business partners worked with the University of Dayton, School of Law to co-develop an Introductory Intellectual Property training. The Acquisition will provide support to all areas of AFRL to include Office of Science and Research, Research Collaboration and Computing, Directed Engineering, Space Vehicles, Munitions, Materials and Manufacturing, Air and Space Systems, the Human Performance Wing, and Information Systems. This contract will be awarded based on the Justification and Approval under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) �Soliciting from a single source� A Justification and Approval for proceeding with this acquisition under Other Than Full and Open Competition will be posted within 15 days of any contract award. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB) or a Request for Proposals (RFP) nor does it restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice nor will it reimburse firms for any costs associated with preparing or submitting a response to this notice.
