- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) MODEL DEFENDER EQUIPMENT KITS THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation (Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation) or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Furthermore, we are not at this time seeking proposals. Responders are advised that the Government shall not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI shall be solely at the responding party�s expense. Proprietary information or trade secrets shall be clearly identified. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked PROPRIETARY shall be safeguarded IAW applicable Government regulations. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly identified. The United Stated Air Force (USAF) is seeking information from interested parties on providing Model Defender Equipment Kits in support of the Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC). The Model Defender Equipment Kits will contain standard operating equipment for Security Forces (SF) warfighters conducting expeditionary base defense missions in support of Combatant Commands world-wide and will include, but not limited to, the below items 1a � 1z. This RFI is issued to gather information regarding market capabilities in preparation of an RFP. The anticipated acquisition strategy is a Trade-Off method where technical capability and past performance are significantly more important than price. The anticipated contract type for this task order is Firm-Fixed Price. Responses to this notice are not offers and shall not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The USAF shall not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this RFI. Responses to the RFI shall not be returned. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. Please provide responses to the following questions: 1. Does your firm have experience/expertise providing the following equipment? If your organization does not have experience/expertise providing the following equipment, please describe how you would go about acquiring/developing these items to meet the below requirements. Be constructed of stitching and material stitched to reduce snag hazards, ensure durability, and prolong serviceability. Contain woven and dyed materials turned under, heat-sealed and/or bound with binding tape to prevent defects that affect performance or durability. Be available in a Tactical Black. Fade/scratch resistant, water resistant and hand washable. Consist of Thread ends trimmed to 1/16 inch maximum. Include low profile shoulder straps with optional shoulder pad accessory. Be compliant with DFARS 252.225-7012 Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities (Berry Amendment). Estimated Quantity: 3,000 1z. Female Plate Carrier System: Have an outside-facing surface constructed of Mil Spec Cordura. Have an inside-facing surface that is padded and channeled to allow comfort and breathability and must be constructed of antimicrobial and flame resistant mesh material.� Be packaged with NIJ-certified Level IIIA ballistic inserts (soft armor) in female design which accommodates natural female shape and body structure without compromising full range of motion, support or excessive breast tissue compression. Provide full torso coverage without compromise to full range of motion and be available in sizing ranging from 383cm2/150in2 to 833cm2/328in2.
