- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION AVAILABLE. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS PUBLISHED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) seeks to obtain a list of sources interested in fulfilling the requirements for a MK 6 Gun Ammunition Hoist and component overhauls. The Government is conducting market research seeking industry inputs and interest for new MK 6 Ammunition Hoists and component overhauls, MK 6 Ammunition Hoist upgrade component sets, services to install upgrade component sets, engineering services efforts to maintain the drawing package, and prepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other technical documentation associated with the MK 6 Ammunition Hoist. This effort is required to support the Aegis Modernization program, Destroyer New Construction, Foreign Military Sales, and general U.S. Navy Fleet support. The MK 6 Ammunition Hoist is designed to transfer and load ammunition from shipboard magazines into the MK 45 Gun Mount. Fire control integration is with the Gun Control System (GCS) MK 160 or the Gun Fire Control System (GFCS) MK86.The MK 6 Ammunition Hoist is an integral element of the MK 34 Gun Weapon System (GWS). The Government requests that interested sources provide proposed plan and concepts to delineate a viable approach to meeting the requirements of the performance specification with special emphasis on the following: ���� Technical Data Package (TDP) relevant to the MK 6 ���� Shipboard modification capabilities relevant to the MK 6 components GENERAL INFORMATION The Government has highlighted some key areas in the performance specification that are of particular interest and those items should be addressed in the responses. In addition, the white paper should delineate technical trade spaces, in which changes to the performance specification requirements could reduce technical risks. Responses should also state areas in the Request for Information (RFI) document or in the performance specification that are not technically achievable or are particular technical challenges. Companies responding to this RFI should provide a response not to exceed thirty (30) pages. Cover Sheet, Company Profile, Table of Contents, and List of Abbreviations and Acronyms are exempt from the page limit. A detailed proposal is not requested.� Responses should indicate sufficient detail for assessment of potential contracting strategies and company interest; submissions should be organized as follows: ���� Cover Sheet: RFI number and name, address, company, technical point of contact, with printed name, title, email address, telephone number, and date ���� Table of Contents: Include a list of figures and tables with page numbers ���� General response information ���� List of abbreviations and acronyms Product line brochures, catalog excerpts, etc. may be submitted and referenced within the general capability statement and are exempt from the page limit. All written expressions of interest and information in response to this Request for Information shall be submitted to the PCO Representative, Shain Quigley, at shain.quigley@navy.mil by 01 March 2021. This request for information notice is for information planning purposes and the Government will not pay or otherwise reimburse respondents for information submitted. Any information submitted by respondents as a result of this request for information is strictly voluntary. All documentation shall become the property of the Government. All information provided by the respondents can be marked �business sensitive� and will only be shared between Government activities and employees. Responses can be classified up to the SECRET level but need to be marked and handled appropriately in accordance with the referenced security classification guides. The Government will accept specific questions or comments submitted in response to this notice or information provided as a result of this request for information (RFI). The Government may or may not be able to provide answers to all questions at this time. All firms responding to this Request for Information (RFI) are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced later via BetaSam.gov and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the response to this sources sought notice. �Response to this notice is not a request to be added to a bidders list or to receive a copy of a solicitation. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION NOTICE.
