Description

� � Fort Irwin is a remote post located in the Mojave Desert, approximately 37 miles northeast of Barstow, California. The NTC mission is to improve the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) unit readiness by providing a unique training atmosphere and environment for tough training at the battalion task force combined arms level, using a realistic opposing force. The BASOPS contract is critical to the successful mission accomplishment of the Fort Irwin mission and provides critical installation support services and facility maintenance and repair services, to the US Army Garrison, Fort Irwin, its Soldiers and families, as well as support to Active Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard units during training exercises at the National Training Center. The requested extension ensures these critical support services continue to be performed at the current price and level of service until a fully developed procurement package can be provided for solicitation of a long term contract solution. The extension will be negotiated at the current level of service; no alterations in performance requirements or the scope of services being provided will be made during this extended period. Specifically, the contract provides support services to the Directorate of Public Works (DPW), the Directorate of Resource Management (DRM), and the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES). � � The Fort Irwin U.S. Army Garrison requests extension of its Base Operations Support Services (BASOPS) contract W9124B-18-C-0004 for a period not to exceed 18 months from 1 February 2021 through 31 July 2022. The contract will remain a hybrid combination of Firm-Fixed- Price (FPP) and Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee for labor, and Cost Reimbursement for materials. Fiscal Years 2021 and 2022 Operations and Maintenance Army (OMA) appropriations will be used to fund the extension period and will be used in accordance with appropriations law. This action will not extend the total contract performance period beyond the 60 months stipulated for the limit in the term of a services contract in FAR Subpart 37 (May 2018 - 31 July 2022).
