Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO PURCHASE NAME BRAND PRINTER � The Space Force�s SAM-D/PK at Peterson AFB has received a BRAND NAME justification for the purchase of a new CANON Image Press C910 Multi-functional PRINTER.� This printer will be purchased as a brand name requirement unless evidence of other products meeting the specifications is provided through market research.� This commercial purchase shall be made using FAR Part 13 procedures.� � The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) number is 333316 Photographic and Photocopying Equipment Manufacturing.� The business size standard is 1000 employees.� Only one brand will satisfy this Joint Command requirement. The Canon ImagePress C910 printer is the sole brand of robust, multi-funtional printer that is supported by a H350 server and has a small footprint.� The H350 server is required, as other printers in the office are supported by H350 servers.�� Likewise, the Canon software is currently used in the office.� Like servers and software reduce compatibility issues and simplify training and troubleshooting.� Using like servers and software in an office environment is a time saving measure.� Additionally, the space for a new printer is small.� The requirement's owner requires high-volume printing capabilities in a small space.� The Canon ImagePress C910 is the only brand of printer that satisfies these requirements. This request is issued on behalf of Fort Bliss, TX.� Canon is the only known brand that meets the Joint Command�s requirements.� Canon imagePRESS C910 SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS THE PROPOSED MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PRINTER SHALL FIT IN A SPACE WITH THE DIMENSIONS OF W 228�, D 131�, H 63� ImagePRESS C910 Marking Engine Must be new equipment and not remanufactured or used Must run at a minimum of 90 letter ipm on stocks up to 80 lb. Cover Must have the ability to switch to a �productivity mode� that allows printing at rated speeds on uncoated stocks up to 130 lb. Cover Must have three standard feeding sources that hold up to 550 sheets (20 lb. Bond) each and support stocks from 3.94"" x 5.83"" to 13"" x 19.2"" and 14 lb. Bond to 110 lb. Cover Must support stocks up to 13 x 19.2"" in size and 130 lb. Cover in weight Must have the ability to auto duplex stocks up to 130 lb. Cover in weight Must have a minimum paper capacity of 7,650 sheets from 6 different paper drawers Must be able to use various brands of media (not proprietary) including uncoated, coated, envelopes, textured, specialty, and synthetic stocks Must have the ability to detect and prevent multiple sheets from entering the press Must be able to replace toner and paper without stopping the press (on the fly) Must have a print resolution of 2400 x 2400 dpi Tab Attachment Kit Must use a RED VSCEL Laser to create images on the drum Must use a 32-beam imaging laser where every dot is imaged twice on the drum Developer unit must precisely control internal environment (humidity) and airflow to help maintain consistent, high-quality images across print runs Toner level gauges must be displayed in one-percent increments Must utilize a flexible transfer belt that aids in proper toner laydown helping ensure full coverage on textured and embossed stocks Must have the ability to print all transfer voltage settings on multiple sheets to quickly and easily locate the optimal secondary transfer media parameter Must utilize a translucent toner that allows the properties of the media to show through and help match the quality of the toner across the entire sheet Must have a front to back registration of +/- 1.0 mm Must utilize a compact registration method where the paper buckle is moved forward and is slowly released to help prevent misregistration Must have a way to scan a test sheet on the copy glass to quickly adjust front to back registration Must have the ability to manipulate any corner individually to improve front to back registration Must incorporate an advanced twin belt fusing method that utilizes induction heating and cooling technology helping to allow high efficiency when switching for mixed media jobs Fusers must not use oil Must have the ability to automatically match the gloss level of the media to the printed image Must measure 20 different color patches (5 of each color channel) at least between every 86 sheets to ensure color consistency � this must not require operator intervention Must have an automated method to preform press calibration (linearization) Must have a duty cycle of 500,000 letter impressions and an average monthly volume of 157,000 letter impressions First copy output time for a color print must be 7.7 seconds or faster The warm up time after turning the press On must be 6 minutes or faster Must have the ability to have common parts be easily replaced by an operator Must be restricted of hazard substances (RoHS Compliant) Toner bottle must be recyclable Must not have any VOCs in consumables Must meet ENERGY STAR standards with reduced power consumption Must be rated EPEAT Gold Copying & Scanning Must have a minimum scan speed of 230 opm (B&W) and 150 opm (color) at 300 dpi Must have the ability to scan originals at least 600 dpi Automatic Document Feeder must have a minimum paper capacity of 300 sheets Automatic Document Feeder must scan both sides of the sheet in a single pass Must have a double sheet detection feature that will halt scanning if more than one sheet is fed at one time Automatic Document Feeder must support up to 80 lb.
