Description: This procurement is software maintenance for VMWare maintenance, which is the platform utilized for server virtualization across RDT&E network. Maintenance, upgrades & patches are required to maintain production use. This is not a new purchase, rather the maintenance and continuation of required and mandated security patching and upgrades which is vital to ensure Information Assurance (IA) compliance and reporting. Installation of a new and different platform environment/brand of OS is simply beyond consideration due to the significant initial cost, training, certification, etc.
