- ***INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE NOTICE-*** Estimated Date of Award: February 28, 2021 Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Columbia, South Carolina intends to award a sole source procurement for the following line items. B/R 9700 ProCycler Recycling System with Advantage Option, Qty 1, EA Five (5)-Year Extended Service Contract Package, Qty 1, JB Enclosure Doors (2) for 9700 ProCycler Series, PN 8C-005-C, with SCP-5-A, Qty 1, SE packaging fee, Qty 1, JB The manufacturer is B/R Instrument Corporation, DUNS number 053936365. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 339112 with a business size standard of 1000 employees. It is the only equipment can provide the Pathology chemical purity requirement for tissue processing that will not contaminate the tissue sample, thus requiring the patient to revisit to pull another tissue sample. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the Authority of FAR 13.106-1 which states that Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 2 days (NLT) February 8, 2021 at 4:00p.m. ET) after date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete with the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Attached is a copy of the approved justification and approval notice that supports the sole source award.
