- Description
- The Pacific Northwest Region (Region 6) and Alaska Region (Region 10) of the Forest Service (FS) will be advertising for inclusion in a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for cultural and heritage services. The National Historic Preservation Act requires the Forest Service to identify, investigate and protect cultural resources on the lands that the FS manages. The Heritage Program has the responsibility to manage precontact, historic, and ethnographic cultural resources for the benefit of the public through preservation, public use, and research. To that end, the states of Oregon, Washington and Alaska have a need for cultural resources to be identified and investigated by hiring contractors for the following (not an all-inclusive list) of services: Archaeological field surveys to include field inventories, literature reviews, archival searches, cultural resources overview, preparations of research designs and oral histories, monitoring, and site condition assessments, mitigation recommendations and treatment plans, National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) Determinations of Eligibility for precontact and historic resources, to include historic structures, Data recovery and analysis (lithic, macro botanical, blood residue, etc.), Traditional Cultural Property studies, Historic Structure Assessments and Rehabilitation, Restoration and Reconstruction, Cultural Resource Management Plans, Geographic Information Systems support, Data entry into Forest Service Heritage Databases, Ethnographic Studies, Interpretive products development, Records Management and Collection preparation for curation under Federal standards. A parent BPA is being solicited for, which in turn will allow for BPA calls against the parent BPA, for project-by-project work in the 3 states listed above. The parent BPAs will be for a 5-year duration. This procurement action is being set-aside for small business. The Forest Service is anticipating releasing the solicitation for these services approximately the middle of March 2021.
