- Fresno Dam Safety of Dams Modification INDUSTRY DAY: In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 15.201- Exchanges with Industry Before Receipt of Proposals, the Bureau of Reclamation, Missouri Basin Region will be holding an Industry Day Conference to discuss a future planned acquisition activity: �Fresno Dam Safety of Dams Modification� Scope: The scope of the project includes the following: Clearing, grubbing and stripping of embankment and borrow areas; Installing and operating dewatering and unwatering systems to support stable excavation slopes and embankment/filter construction; Excavating existing dam embankment; Constructing new biopolymer filter trench; Furnishing and installing geotextile; Furnishing and installing new sand filter and gravel drain; Constructing cast in place concrete support bases for toe drain access manholes; Furnishing and installing HDPE toe drainpipes, access manholes and cleanouts; Excavating, screening and delivering borrow material for embankment overlay; Constructing new filter and drain embankment overlay; Furnishing and installing sediment traps and weir boxes; Restoring all ground disturbance within construction use area; Furnishing and placing asphalt pavement along crest of dam and damaged areas. Background: Fresno Dam is a homogeneous embankment earth dam completed in 1939 and has experienced 7-10 feet of settlement since construction. Reclamation evaluated the risk associated with differential settlement-driven cracking and internal erosion and determined that a modification was required. In order to mitigate this risk Reclamation proposes to modify Fresno Dam to include a state-of-the-practice sand filter and toe drain system with an embankment fill overlay and a vertical sand filter trench. Who should attend: Companies with the technical expertise in heavy civil construction related to dam or water delivery infrastructure within the rules and regulations in the state of Montana. Purpose: The intent of Industry Day is for industry and Reclamation to Improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities. As well, Reclamation is seeking feedback from industry on how to best combine the technical aspects of the work to minimize risk to potential contractors and the government, project schedules, and overall cost. Industry day will allow attendees the opportunity to speak directly with Reclamation contracting officials and project leads about their capabilities and recommendations with the planned procurement activity. Date and Location: Industry Day will be held Virtually on March 16, 2021, via TEAMS at 9:00 am MT. Those that plan to attend will need to respond to the Contracting Officer, Linda Melnick via email by March 12, 2021. Additionally, time will be provided for companies to meet one-on-one with the Government personnel for no more than 20 minutes each. If you are interested in participating in one of these sessions, please request this from the Contracting Officer, Linda Melnick as well. These sessions will be scheduled on the order in which the request is submitted. Additional Information Industry Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose any potentially related agency announcements or potential solicitations on any discussed topics.
