- Description
- Please note that this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date.� The Embassy of the United States in Haiti will launch the solicitation on the beta.SAM.gov website when it is available. The Embassy of the United States in Port-au-Price will issue a solicitation for Packing and Crating Services.� This is an indefinite-quantity contract for the supplies or services specified and effective for the period stated, in the Schedule.� The contractor shall provide services for the United States Mission, Port au Prince, Haiti.� This consists of packing, freight handling, forwarding, cargo storage, customs clearance and other related services that apply to shipments originating from, consigned to, routed through, and/or moved within the geographic area(s) of Port au Prince.� The estimated yearly quantity of packing services is as follows: packing of HHE 150,000 Lbs; packing of UAB 30,000 Lbs; unpacking of HHE 300,000 Lbs; unpacking of UAB 30,000 Lbs; packing of general cargo 10,000 Lbs; monthly storage of effects 50,000 Lbs; estimated local move 72,000 Lbs. The contractor shall furnish all managerial, administrative, direct labor personnel, materials and transportation that are necessary to accomplish all work required. Packing of client Household Effects and Government-owned materials for transportation is a highly specialized function.� The measure of performance shall be the condition of packed articles upon arrival at their destination.� The contractor must appreciate the importance of family possessions and U.S.� Government property and always take the greatest care in handling and packing such articles.� The anticipated performance period is for one base year and four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government. �All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which will be considered. � The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion.� The resultant contract will be a requirements contract under which may be placed firm fixed-price delivery orders. The Government is planning a pre-quotation conference and the date for this conference will be in the solicitation. � All contractors have to be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database (https://www.sam.gov) prior to the submission of proposals pursuant to FAR provision 52.204-7.
