Description

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, anticipates publicizing a solicitation for the New Soo Lock Chamber Contract at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan during the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2021. The scope of the project consists of the construction of a 1200-foot (length) by 110-foot (width) navigation lock at the Soo Locks complex. As part of this procurement, the Detroit District intends to specify SHERPA as a brand name or equal for one compact electric bucket loader. The brand-name description for the bucket loader is for a SHERPA model 100 ECO. This bucket loader will be used in the new well for mucking operations and the well dimensions restrict the overall size of the bucket loader. Size restrictions and other criteria that the bucket loader must meet are included in the attached draft Specifications, Section 41 22 13.20, Mucking Equipment. The Contractor may, at its option, use any equipment, material, article, or process that, in the judgment of the Contracting Officer, is determined to be equal through formal evaluation comparison against the specified salient characteristics as provided by the written specifications for each piece of equipment, material, article or process. All listed manufacturers are the basis of design. Other manufacturers may be substituted as long as the salient characteristics of the substituted manufacturer meet or exceed the salient characteristics of the basis of design. Interested parties who feel they have this capability may identify their interest and capability in writing to the identified point of contact, no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Time Zone on March 2, 2021. In order to demonstrate your firm's interest and capabilities to provide directly compatible equivalent products, please provide the following: 1.) Name of Firm 2.) CAGE Code 3.) Point of Contact, Phone Number, and Email Address 4.)
