Description
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) tactical mission networkingrequires equipment, software and the associated sustainment and support services to support the Special OperationsForces (SOF) Tactical Mission Network. The Governments requirement is for a Light Weight Processor (LWP)for the Army Special Operations Aircraft (ARSOA). The LWP will enable airborne networking functionality on theA/MH-6M, MH-47G, and MH-60M aircraft without interfering with operational flight program (OFP) functions. ALWP will provide the processing power to host and operate all airborne mission networking inputs/outputs andsoftware (e.g. INTR-Link and SRTV) as well as any other third party software application utilized by aircrew executing assigned/tasked missions. The A/MH-6M Mission Enhanced Little Bird (MELB), due to size and weightlimits, is unable to use the traditional, militarized processor used in the MH-60M and MH-47G Mission DesignSeries (MDS) aircraft. The LWP Project seeks to competitively procure and test either commercial-off-the-shelf(COTS) or non-developmental items (NDI) that can provide sufficient processing within size, weight, and power(SWaP) constraints of the MELB.
