Project work will renourish 7.3 miles of critically eroded shoreline immediately south of Port Everglades Inlet in Segment III along two placement areas. A 1.5 mile long segment within the Mitzel-Eula Johnson State Park (Park; south jetty - R-92) and a 5.8 mile long segment within the cities of Dania, Hollywood, and Hallandale (HHD; R-98.3 to R-128). The beach fill template between R-86 to R-92 includes a flat upper berm at an elevation of +8.4 ft NAVD88, sloping down at 1V:50H to a flat lower berm at an elevation of +6.4 ft NAVD88. Non-federal dune and coastal vegetation shall also be constructed within the limits of the park at the locations shown on the drawings. The beach fill template between R-98.3 to R-128 includes a flat upper berm at an elevation of +5.4 ft NAVD88, sloping down at 1V:50H to a flat lower berm at an elevation of +3.9 ft NAVD88. The upper berm crests extend landward to tie-in with the existing grade or existing structures. The seaward limit of the lower berm crests slope down at 1V:10H to tie-in with the existing grade. The beach templates described above includes a +0.5 foot vertical tolerance allowance. Sand for the project will be sourced from upland mine(s) and truck hauled to the beach fill area.
