Description
Statement of Work for Automated Cassette Labeler Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service Kansas City VA Medical Center Kansas City, MO Intent: Kansas City VA is requesting equipment for the following purpose: One automated cassette labeler that will help to eliminate patient ID errors caused by manual labeling. It also reduces ergonomic related incidents due to the constant repetitive motion of hand labeling. Specifications/Salient Characteristics: 6 cassette hoppers. Ability to print barcodes for tracking to support reduction errors through automation and traceability. Chemical resistant ink- printing. 2-D Data Matrix barcode feature. Print standard characters, logos and barcodes for reliable specimen tracking. Organized workflow capability that allows for grouping of cassettes and cases together while maintaining the correct sequences for additional security. Includes computer software and PC with Windows 10 OS capable of standing alone or can be integrated with the Laboratory Interface System (LIS) system. An uninterruptible power supply unit. USB cable to connect to PC, and power cable. Small footprint, not to exceed 18 W x 34 H x 16 L. The 34 inches in height includes the cassette tubes Small footprint. Unit shall accept standard size cassettes and is an open system that allows use of cassettes from different vendors/suppliers. On-site training of histology staff upon completion of installation at no cost to the government. At least one copy of the Operator s manual and of the technical service manual. Preventative Maintenance to be provided as frequently as directed by the manufacturer s operator manual to include travel, labor and materials needed for maintenance. Preventative Maintenance should not be contingent on the purchase of Name brand cassettes. Delivery and Installation Contractor shall deliver and install all equipment to the Kansas City VA Medical Center Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service, Anatomic Pathology Section, room M1.484 at 4801 Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, Mo 64128. Package items to prevent damage or deterioration during shipment, handling, storage and installation.
