- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Office of the Chief Procurement Officer on behalf of its Office of Technology Development (OTD) intends to award a twelve month, sole source follow-on Research & Development contract to purchase continued development of overt security features based on video animation effects suitable for use in protecting the next generation of U.S. Federal Reserve Notes from counterfeiting threats and to provide the general public with a user friendly feature to quickly and confidently validate notes passed in common, everyday transactions. The Government intends to award a sole source contract with Xerox Corporation�(herein refer to as Xerox) utilizing �Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements� IAWFAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). Anticipated award date will be April 25, 2021. The vendor will continue to perform Research and Development services in order to further the development of mechanochromic materials that can be printed or coated on flexible substrates for potential future use as an overt security feature for U.S. Currency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers/quotes/proposals. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� The solicitation will not be posted. To be considered, responses MUST be received NO LATER THAN 12:00PM, EASTERN STANDARD TIME, March 10, 2021�. Additionally, interested sources must be registered and currently active in the System for Award Management (SAM), found at https://www.beta.sam.
