Description
The Iowa City, Iowa VA Medical Center research is in need for an equipment of LED digital mirror light-directing device that is compatible with the Nikon NIS-elements software which is already in use. This enables research team to focus the photoactivating light field to the specific region of a cell framed within NIS-elements. This will also enable precise timing of the light impulses and simultaneous imaging. The Spectra III light source is also the only available LED source, with the required wavelengths, that is compatible with NIS-elements. This LED source also has the specific wavelengths that are required for photoactivation of the proteins that will be in use. Therefore, the requested package is the only one which will allow the team to perform the proposed experiments with the existing Nikon microscope. Description & Salient Characteristics: Polygon pattern illuminators are modules for targeted photostimulation and provides precise spatiotemporal control of light with subcellular resolution. It enables researchers to send light to anywhere on their specimen, and in any shape, size and complexity within a large projection field-of-view. In addition, multiple regions-of-interest (ROIs) can be illuminated simultaneously, and patterns can be switched at kHz speeds. Different wavelengths of light can be used with the Polygon for virtual simultaneous multi-color illumination of unique ROIs. Polygon systems integrate via TTL with other equipment such as electrophysiology tools or cameras. Required Individual Line Items & Quantity of Items: Mightex Polygon DMD 1000 77064019 Polygon 1000 DMD with 3mm LLG input coupler.
