- Description: U.S. ARMY CONTRACTING COMMAND (ACC), DETROIT ARSENAL, MICHIGAN 48397-5000 Nomenclature:� Tactical Dry Gap Bridge. Item Description: The US Army is surveying the market for candidates to provide bridges and/or launching systems to cross most of the world's dry gaps, roughly 40 to 50 meters, with a heavy main battle tank, i.e. Abrams.� This kind of bridge would be expected to quickly launch and retrieve with personnel and equipment from only one bank and without using construction equipment to level the site. The objective of the Market Questionnaire is to better understand the availability and capabilities of commercial bridging and launching technology to meet the Army�s dry gap crossing needs. The information gathered by the Army through this Market Questionnaire, along with other market investigation data, is solely intended for use by the U.S. Army and will not be shared amongst competing companies. Participation in this Market Questionnaire provides an important opportunity to influence the Army�s approach for dry gap crossing missions. The U.S. Army will not provide compensation for any resources spent on this Market Questionnaire and participation is at the discretion of the equipment manufacturer respondent(s).
