- Statement of Work Replacement of Steam Coil Building 133 AHU-1 Date: January 26, 2021 References: VA Master Specifications, NFPA Codes & Standards, OSHA and FHCC Safety Guidelines Coil Specifications Attached Captain James A Lovell FHCC has an urgent and compelling need for replacement of the existing steam coil for the Air Handler that provides heating to our Emergency Dept and associated areas in its proximity. This SOW will include all Material and Labor to remove the existing coil and associated piping from the Air Handler and remove from the Penthouse where it is located along with lifting the new coil onto the roof via crane services. All railing inside the Penthouse area will be removed temporarily to provide access to the Air Handler, and then reattached as was original to the space. All existing valves and controllers currently operating the Air Handler for steam distribution will be saved and reconnected as they are all in excellent condition. Insulating any new piping will also be included in this SOW. Scheduling for the replacement will be communicated to the COR within 2 weeks time frame to coordinate with the end user for awareness based on outside temperatures All work shall be coordinated and performed on regular time, Monday-Friday (7:00 am-3:30pm) Disposal of all items associated with this contract shall comply with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (EPA). All services will be coordinated with COR as not to prolong expected downtime POC Shawn Taylor STRATOMIZER SPECIFICATION STRATOMIZER DAMPERED FACE AND BYPASS COIL: Shall be Stratomizer model(s) manufactured by Marlo Coil, High Ridge, Missouri. Manufacturer shall warranty the coils for materials, craftsmanship, and performance for a period of not less than 36 months from shipment. Coil(s) shall consist of alternating (horizontal) (vertical) dampered finned tube cores and air bypass sections designed to maintain a constant discharge air temperature regardless of variations of entering air temperatures while operating at full steam pressure or full hot water flow rate. The leaving air temperature measured three feet downstream of the coil shall be maintained at a temperature not varying more that 5 F from the average discharge temperature of the coil. The damper assembly shall be designed to maintain constant air flow volume not varying more than +/-5% regardless of the coil and bypass damper position. The coil-damper assembly shall include discharge shut-off dampers and damper blade and edge seals so that the air bypassing the finned tube cores shall not exceed a temperature rise greater than 2 F with a steam pressure delivered to the supply header at 5 PSIG. Dampers shall be connected by a non-ferrous linkage, isolated from the air stream, and driven by a {pneumatic} {electric} operator controlled by a {pneumatic} {electric} air stream averaging thermostat. The damper blades shall be fabricated from a minimum of 0.090 inch thick thermally reflective extruded anodized aluminum, pivoting on aluminum damper rods housed in oil impregnated bronze bearings. Use of painted steel damper blades is not permitted. Blade edge seals shall be utilized where damper blades close to form a seal. Frame assembly shall be fabricated from a minimum of 14 gauge ASTM A525 galvanized and bonderzied, G-90 steel, {finish painted with an air dried enamel to a minimum 1.5 mil thickness} and include duct mounting holes and removable lifting lugs. Finned cores shall be of the staggered tube, continuous plate fin type assuring maximum heat transfer and minimum pressure loss. The continuous plate fins shall create a structurally sturdy fin-tube bundle preventing failures due to tube vibrations in the air stream and facilitate easier coil cleaning due to uniformly spaced, unobstructed air flow passages. Extended surface fins shall be continuous {configurated} {flat} plates 0.010 inch thick {alternate fin thickness} aluminum {alternate fin material} with non-telescoping die formed spacing collars not to exceed () fins per inch which completely cover the tubes. Fins shall be permanently bonded to the tubes by hydraulically expanding the tubes with a minimum of 2800 PSIG assuring maximum heat transfer without the need for bonding coatings. Each individual finned tube core shall be supported at the tube ends by a minimum 16 gauge tube sheet with inserted and rolled copper ferrules providing a bearing surface which allows thermal expansion and contraction of the finned core while preventing wear of the tubes outer diameter. The finned tube cores shall be isolated from the bypass airstream by minimum 16 gauge sheet metal baffles which offer separation of the bypass and heated air from the entering air through the leaving air side of the coil. Use of moving sheet metal dampers as baffles shall not be allowed. VERTICAL STRATOMIZER CORE OPTIONS 5/8"" Water Core the finned core tubes shall be 5/8 inch od copper {alternate tube material}with 0.035 inch wall thickness {alternate wall thickness} and shall be assembled to a minimum of type ""m"" headers {alternate header construction}. Coil circuiting shall be accomplished using continuous hairpin tubes and return bend elbows minimizing the number of brazed connections in the circuits. Return bends shall have one wall thickness larger than the circuit tubing and be sized to maintain constant fluid velocity throughout the circuit. Standard completed coil assemblies shall be pneumatically leak tested at 300 psig under water and guaranteed for 200 psig working pressure. Maximum operating temperature is 375°f maximum. 5/8 Steam Coil Core - Finned core tubes shall be 5/8 OD copper {alternate material} with 0.035 inch wall thickness {alternate wall thickness} and brazed with not less than 5% silver alloy {or welded} to type M seamless copper headers {alternate header material}. Standard completed coil assemblies shall be pneumatically leak tested under water at 300 PSIG under water and guaranteed for 200 PSIG working pressure.
