Description
Statement of Work (SOW) for X-ray Scanning System Background: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Eastern Kansas, to include both the Colmery� O'Neil Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas, are seeking the purchase and installation of �a x-ray scanning system., to include hardware, software, training, and a one year maintenance agreement. More specifically, a small package x-ray system to screen small packages and parcels going in and out of the VAMC's for weapons, bomb components, or other concealed contraband. Requirements: Specifications for x-ray scanning system services are provided herein: System shall be self-contained. Data from machines shall go to a system dedicated server. Data will not be transferred or transmitted to any location outside the VA network. This specification is to the metrics of scans performed and if imaging is saved System shall comply with baseline Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of Information and Technology security requirements and will run on a Microsoft V/in<lows Server 2010. The vendor shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the entire x-my�scanning system. System shall be capable of being repaired and upgraded by supplying the necessary software to the VA �Department of Veterans Affairs Business Office (Mailroom) or by the vendor coming onsite at no additional cost. System software version shall be the most current version available at the time of installation. System shall be able to generate a variety of user reports on usage and volume or usage. System shall be HIPAA compliant. The system shall have a tunnel or scanning area of 28 inches (width or height) or less. Overall Size of the system should not be greater than 80in x 40in x 60in (L x W x 1-1). Training for the system should be computer-based training, without VA employees having to travel. 11.������ The system should have either an LED or LCD monitor with options for upgrading or changing our monitor if needed. The viewing of the scanning results may be single view or multiple view. 12.������ The system should be either dual-energy transmission, multi-energy transmission, or a backscatter system. I 3.������� The system shall have a penetration, typical guaranteed. of between 10-40 mm� as described in ASTM F792-08 standard Practice for Evaluating the imaging I'e1fim11ance (?f"" Security X-ray Systems. 14.� � � � The system shall have a Wire Resolution scanning capability of between 42-36 AWG (American wire gauge) as described in ASTM F792-08. 15.� � � �The system shall have Stripping capabilities, to help remove organic and inorganic. whether it be high or low density. material from the scanning results. 16.� � � �The Contractor shall be able to demonstrate specific examples of successful means of providing the goods and services described in these specifications. 17.� � � � The Contractor shall provide an example of where the system is installed and operational in at least 3 medical facilities within the U.S. 18.� � � � �The Contractor shall be able to provide locations and contact information here their systems are currently located and operational. 19.� � � � � �The Contractor shall provide information on how the system operates including a general �overview and technical information for VAMC Information Technology staff 20.� � � � � �The Contractor shall provide a system that offers a toll-free number for issues/repairs between 8am-430pm CT, Monday through Friday.
