Description
Synopsis for Solicitation/Notice Number W9124D-21-R-0005, Mortuary Services The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) � Fort Knox, 199 6th Avenue, Building 1109, FT. Knox, KY 40121, intends to issue a solicitation for Mortuary Services to award a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract in support of U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), FT. Knox, KY, in accordance with the Performance Work Statement provided herein.� This requirement will be a competitive 100% set-aside for Small Businesses.� The estimated Period of Performance begins 01 October 2021 with a base period of 12 months and four (4) option periods of 12 months each.� Additionally, there is a Dash 8 from 01 Oct 2026 - 31 March 2027. The NAICS code for this requirement is 812210, Funeral Homes and Funeral Services.� The small business size standard is $7,500,000.00. Product Service Code: G001 � Care of Remains and/or Funeral Services. The estimated value of this effort is $20,131,582.60 including all options and extensions in accordance with FAR clauses 52.217-8 and 52.217-9. HRC has a statutory requirement to provide Mortuary Support Services to support the United States Army and certain Department of the Army civilians within CONUS as well as Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. Mortuary Services and Support specific tasks to this requirement are the contractor shall provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week mortuary service, to include holidays. Vehicles used to transport human remains shall meet the requirements in AR 638-2. �Drivers of mortuary vehicles shall meet all applicable state licensing and insurance requirements, be fluent in English, and be culturally sensitive. Mortuary facilities shall be well maintained, with safe, well-lighted parking areas and shall have storage capacity for a minimum of five embalmed remains and two casketed remains. Contractor shall provide storage of remains being processed for a period not to exceed 72 hours from the final inspection of the remains. The embalming shall ensure complete disinfection, preservation and restoration (if possible) of all tissue. : Restorative art is an integral part of the processing and/or reprocessing of remains to provide the greatest opportunity for the family members to view the deceased. Furthermore, within four hours of notification from receiving the DD 3045 or DD Form 3047 from the respective CAC, human remains shall be removed from the place of death, the immediate location or 100-mile radius of where the remains are located.� If the location of the remains is between 100 and 200 miles, the remains must be removed from the place of death or immediate location within six hours of receiving the DD 3045 or DD Form 3047 from the respective CAC. The anticipated posting date of the solicitation is on or about 15 March 2021. �The anticipated closing date of the solicitation is on or about 14 April 2021. All Offerors shall be registered within the System for Award Management (SAM) http://www.sam.gov prior to submitting an offer. Potential Offerors are responsible for monitoring FedBizOpps for release of the solicitation package and any amendments. The solicitation and any/all amendments will be posted and available for viewing and downloading at the Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov).� No paper copies will be issued.� When the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review the aforementioned. There are no commitments by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above. �Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contract. �No telephone responses will be accepted.
