Description
Request for Information:� This announcement should not be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Request For Information (RFI). THIS IS NOT A RFP AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE U.S. GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A RFP.� This RFI release is for U.S. Government planning purposes only and constitute requests for exchange of information pursuant to FAR 15.201. The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) seeks information on stabilized weapon mount armament systems applicable to aviation, ground, and air-defense platforms that would enter service in the 2024 timeframe with an estimated service life of 50 years. DEVCOM Armaments Center (AC) is supporting the Army�s modernization efforts with the establishment of the Army Future Command (AFC) and its priorities within the Cross Functional Teams (CFTs) by requesting the information proposed in this RFI.� This RFI seeks to inform the Government of existing and promising 5.56MM thru .50 caliber stabilized weapon mounts that utilize existing TRL-9 rapid-firing, rifled long-barrel auto loading firearm systems and could be made available for application (TRL 6+) within the next 1 to 4 years. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following subsystem categories: Maturity Level Testing (functional or live-fire) completed to-date Acquired data such as: dispersion/accuracy, system performance, resistance to impulse loads, and/or resistance to harmonic environmental conditions. Targeting Aids (e.g. scopes, HUDs, ballistic solutions, augmented reality etc) Size and weight of proposed system and its subsystems Duration of time needed to dismount weapon from mount system Power requirements (e.g. AC/DC, voltage, Duty Cycle: continuous loads, peak loads, duration of peak loads, and preferred source of power.) Details about the nontraditional technologies and how it could be applied Innovated concepts and how it could be applied Other unlisted characteristic of interest It is important that the technology utilize existing weapon systems and provide enhanced capabilities such as increased probability of hit while minimizing size, weight, power, impacts to the overall platform.� This technology must also be affordable in acquisition, operation, and sustainment throughout the entire life cycle of the platform. Request your company provide responses to the following questionnaire: 1. Does your company have a system available that can meet the above requirements?� If yes, please provide description of your system. Please specifically highlight any individual technical requirement that creates a significant challenge for your company to meet. 2. Do test reports exist that demonstrate your system meets the above requirements? If so, please include them in your response. 3. Are you able to supply documented ability of your company�s system to function reliably? If so, please provide that with your response. 4. Describe your company�s history and experience with supplying this or similar systems including the total number supplied to date. 5. Are the systems currently in stock and available for immediate delivery? 6. If your system is not currently in stock, when would the systems be available for delivery? 7. What is your commercial price for the above system and accessories?� Any pricing data should be sent, if available, and at no cost to the U.S. Government. ROM data is acceptable. Also please provide the following company information: Company Name. Company Address. Company point of contact, phone number and email address. Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code. Identify if the business is considered a small or large business, based on the NAICS Code. Also, if a small business, please indicate any socio-economic subcategory your company falls under.
