NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 01, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Regional Procurement Office East, Network Contracting Office 1 (New England), 623 Atwells Avenue, Uncas Bldg., Providence, RI 02909, hereby formally announces the intent to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source brand name basis, under authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1) to Hologic Inc., 250 Campus Drive, Marlborough, Massachusetts� 01752, New Hologic ThinPrep 2000 Processor, Part Number: PRD-04184, automated single specimen collection and preparation device for use in Anatomic Pathology Services.� Processor is a fluid-based collection device for gathering and processing specimens for the detection of cancer.� This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals; however, all interested persons that identify to the Contracting Officer their intent and capabilities to satisfy the Government's requirement within 3 calendar days of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
