Description

This is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP).� This is a notice of the Government�s intent to issue a sole source award contract to Intertrade, A Collins Aerospace Company for the procurement of a TACAN transceiver for the C-37B aircraft.� The TACAN is an identification friend or foe (IFF) system and is required to support the C-37B Commandant Gulfstream Aircraft.� The use of this system provides standardization and commonality among U.S. Coast Guard Aircraft.� The USCG announces its intent to enter into a contract award on a sole source basis with Intertrade, A Collins Aerospace Company under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1): Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The specific requirements that makes Intertrade, A Collins Aerospace Company the only contractor capable of providing the TACAN transceiver is that they are the OEM of this system.� To procure this system from another manufacturer would delay production and along with the cost of developing all new software to meet the current TACAN specifications, would be cost prohibitive. Respondents are advised that the USCG will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice.� All costs associated with responding to this notice will be solely at the responding party�s expense. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.� Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
