Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI), Rock Island, IL 61299 on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems, is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of manufacturing the following Projectile Body: Projectile Gun Unit (PGU)-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly, NSN 1315-01-615-4124 The purpose of this market research is to obtain current information on the capability of businesses to provide the PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly FY21-22 requirements. �The Government Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly is classified as Distribution Statement C, Distribution authorized to U.S. Government Agencies and their Contractors. �These documents contain technical data whose EXPORT is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act -Title 22, U.S.C., SEC 2751, ET SEQ or the Export Administration Act of 1979, as Amended, titled, 50 U.S.C. App 2240 Et Seq.� Violations of these export laws are subject to severe penalties. �Dissemination shall be in accordance with provisions of DoD Directive 5230.25. A TDP will be made available to interested parties for this announcement.� If interested sources want to become certified in order to receive the Technical Information for this market research notice, they must fill out a registration form to become Data Custodians for their Company. �This information can be found at: https://www.dla.mil/HQ/LogisticsOperations/Services/JCP/DD2345Instructions/ and https://public.logisticsinformationservice.dla.mil/PublicHome/jcp/default.aspx# To obtain the Technical Information for this market research notice, the interested source must request explicit access through the ""attachments/links"" tab in Beta.Sam.gov under sources sought Notice ID W52P1J-21-R-XPGU. �An interested source must have an approved DD Form 2345, Military Critical Technical Data Agreement, on file with the Joint Certification Program (JCP) in order to be granted access to the Technical Information. �Restricted technical data will not be available to an interested source who has not been certified. The PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly is a Fragmenting Projectile Body made from HF1 Steel, has a finished weight of approximately 25 lbs., is approximately 15.735 inches long, and has a curved exterior. �In addition, the PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly utilizes a swaged rotating band that encircles the body close to the base. �For interplant storage and transport, the empty bodies are placed in a corrosion resistant bag, folded and clipped shut, and then placed in a box. To be considered a capable source for this effort, interested contractors must show adequate technical and manufacturing capability to produce PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly at a rate of 2,200 per month. �If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc.) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate that they can obtain such necessary resources to fabricate, assemble, and inspect the required quantities of PGU-45 Metal Parts Assembly and obtain the necessary equipment, facilities, and tooling required to fabricate and deliver at a high rate of production. �This may include an indication of willingness to invest in setting up a required production line. Interested contractors should submit the following information: Name of Company, Address and Contact Information Company size (please specify as either a Large Business, Foreign-Owned Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, 8(a) Concern, Woman-Owned Small Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone concern, Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business). CAGE code, if available. Manufacturing experience directly related to the PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly or similar items. A brief summary of the company�s capabilities; to include a description of production/test facilities, equipment, technical skills/abilities, and personnel experience as it relates to the manufacture of PGU-45 Artillery Metal Parts Assembly. Estimated minimum and maximum monthly production capacities and the minimum procurement quantity required for economical production. Description of the existing production Quality Assurance System. Any other additional information that may be useful to the Government if it chooses to go forward with a request for proposal (RFP). This market research is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a RFP or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. �The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market research or otherwise pay for the information provided. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary and at no cost to the U.S. Government. Please identify any proprietary information submitted. Proprietary responses will be protected in accordance with the markings.
