Description
STATEMENT OF WORK INSTRUMENT STORAGE SHELVING BRAND-NAME ONLY Background The Sterile Processing Service (SPS) at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMJC VAMC) located at 3900 Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA has a brand-name-only requirement for multiple items of Pegasus CSPS shelving that will be used to expand and convert the existing Pegasus CSPS instrument storage shelving that supports the storage of Operating Room and Surgical Clinic sterilized surgical instrumentation. The NAICS Code is 337215. Scope of Work This requirement is for a storage system that would allow the medical center to upgrade, expand and modify the current Pegasus CSPS instrument storage shelving system so that there will no longer be a need to stack any surgical instrument containers or wrapped sets. The vendor shall assemble and install all new racks for the Misc., Gyn & Gen/Lap areas. CMJC VAMC Hospital personnel will transfer all items (containers, wrapped sets and baskets) from the existing shelving to the new storage shelving system. This will free up the existing wire carts for use as temporary shelving while each additional area is being converted. For each additional specialty area one at a time, (Thoracic, Vascular, Orthopedics, Neuro, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Davinci, Plastics, and Podiatry) CMJC VAMC Hospital personnel will remove all material (containers, wraps & baskets) to the temporary wire carts. The vendor will prepare to expand and convert existing shelving and rails to new shelving and rails to existing frame. The vendor will then install new rails, mounting plates, telescoping rails & CSPS shelves where indicated on the attached drawings. CMJC VAMC Hospital personnel will then move all items from the wire carts to the new rails & CSPS shelves in the converted and expanded racks. The vendor will assist in re-positioning the telescoping rails and CSPS shelves to ensure they are properly in place to accommodate the surgical tray per specialty, in space specifically for the item to eliminate stacking. The quote shall include all required components for conversion and expanding per drawings and installation set up. The vendor shall install the instrument storage shelving upon delivery to the CMJC VAMC Warehouse. Installation must be completed on a Saturday, Sunday, or Federal Holiday when reusable medical equipment is not being processed, or operations are severely reduced. Sterile Processing Service is a 24/7 operation, but reprocessing is significantly reduced during the weekends or Federal Holidays making the instrument storage area accessible for installation and conversion. No additional charges shall be incurred for time spent at the site during or after the normal hours of coverage, awaiting the arrival of additional FSE and/or delivery of parts or installation. Qualifications The vendor shall have knowledge and experience with building instrument storage shelving that is maintained in a Sterile Processing Department. Delivery must be completed on a Saturday, Sunday, or Federal Holiday when reusable medical equipment is not being processed, or operations are severely reduced. Deliveries must be coordinated between Sterile Processing and Warehouse staff in advance of the ship date.
