- NASA/Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) is hereby soliciting information from potential sources to manufacture the inflatable components of three DC-8 evacuation slides and certify each slide per FAA standards. NASA/AFRC DC-8 is currently outfitted with Goodrich evacuation slides which have been in service for 15+ years.� The slide systems are operational.� However, the inflatable components are becoming porous due to age and are at risk of failing Air Retention Tests, deeming the slides unserviceable. Below are the specifications: Manufacturer� � �Part Number� � � �Quantity Goodrich� � � � � �5156100-6� � � � � � � � �2 Goodrich� � � � ���5216100-6� � � � � � � � �1 Requirements: Manufacture and test NEW inflatable slide components per OEM specifications Certify slide systems per FAA TSO-C69c, EMERGENCY EVACUATION SLIDES, RAMPS, RAMP/SLIDES, AND SLIDE/RAFTS The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) (AFRC) is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including all socioeconomic categories of Small Businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI), for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for DC-8 Emergency Evacuation Slides. ��The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Women-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-owned Small Business (EDWOSB) or HUBZone business set-aside based on responses received. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on beta.SAM.gov.� Interested firms are responsible for monitoring this website for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested firms having the required capabilities necessary to meet the above requirement described herein should submit a capability statement indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort. Responses must include the following:� name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, or any category of small business*, number of years in business; affiliate information:� parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime); list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and point of contact - address and phone number).
