The current BRU-52 1095-01-381-5850, P/N DAA3529A047-001 requires a modification to comply with Mil Standard 2088 requirements. The USG will provide the specifications and drawings necessary to manufacture the modificactions kits. This is a build to print acquisition. The acquisition strategy will incorporate a multi-year contract with various ordering periods and a range of quantities to facilitate multiple delivery orders. The projected quantities will vary based on available funding during each ordering period. The total quantity of BRU-52 kits required will be 1,120ea. The BRU-52 Bomb Release Unit carries, monitors and releases bombs from the Smart Bomb Rack Assembly (SBRA) on the B-2 Bomber. The BRU-52 is used for carrying and releasing up to and including 1,000 pound class stores whose lugs are 14 inches on center. A cocked BRU-52 may be released by an electrical signal or with a manually applied load. It can be locked in the cocked position by inserting a cable-controlled safing pin in the mechanism. The BRU-52 includes two arming solenoids, a release solenoid, and a transfer switch. All solenoids incorporate diodes to prevent back Electromotive Force (EMF), and connecting circuits have Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) protection. The BRU-52 modification kit will consist of manufactured components required to complete the necessary modifications to the BRU-52. The component material will consist of 17-4 PH Stainless Steel Annealed and 13-8 PH SS: H1000. In addition to the metal fabrication there will a cable fabrication requirement. The USG is currently working to develop a final design and drawing package for the BRU-52 modification kit. Adherence to the technical data package (TDP) is mandatory. A potential supplier would need to undergo First Article Testing (FAT) per requirements within the TDP. The manufacturer must have facilities that support the production and testing. Furthermore, a safety board review and flight testing may be required in order to satisfy the user. The US Government has the data rights to the engineering technical drawing package (TDP). First Article Testing (FAT) requirements will be applicable in order to qualify new sources. The TDP may not describe specific processes to manufacture some parts and pieces to this item. A manufacturer will need to develop these processes. Interested parties may contact the technical focal point listed to obtain releasable technical data to aid with completion of the capability survey. CONTRACTOR CAPABILITY SURVEY BRU-52 Bomb Release Unit Modification Kits Part I. Business Information Please provide the following business information for your company/institution and for any teaming or joint venture partners: Company/Institute Name: Address: Point of Contact: CAGE Code: Phone Number: E-mail Address: Web Page URL: Government Proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code: 332999 All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing 332618 Other Fabricated Wire Product Manufacturing Based on the Government proposed NAICS Code, state whether your company is: 332999 332618 Small Business (Yes / No) (Yes / No) Woman Owned Small Business (Yes / No) (Yes / No) Small Disadvantaged Business (Yes / No) (Yes / No) 8(a) Certified (Yes / No) (Yes / No) HUBZone Certified (Yes / No) (Yes / No) Veteran Owned Small Business (Yes / No) (Yes / No) Service Disabled Veteran Small Business (Yes / No) (Yes / No) System for Award Management (SAM) (Yes / No) (Yes / No) A statement as to whether your company is domestically or foreign owned (if foreign, please indicate the country of ownership). Responses to the Capability Survey Part I and Part II must be received no later than close of business 2 April, 2021. Please ensure data is in a readable electronic format that can be received through a firewall. Attachments shall not to exceed 10 MB per email. Multiple emails are acceptable. Responses must be sent via email to the following: Buyer: Shasta Rieker (Shasta.Rieker@us.af.mil) PCO: Jerry Brown (Jerry.Brown.14@us.af.mil) Program Manager: Philip Young (Philip.Young.5@us.af.mil) The Government Point of Contact for the technical requirements specified within is Hamilton Wise, 478-222-4886, William.Wise.12@us.af.mil AFLCMC/EBWWE Questions relative to this market research should be addressed to Philip Young (Philip.Young.5@us.af.mil) and/or Hamilton Wise (William.Wise.12@us.af.mil) Part II.
