Description

The 145th Airlift Wing Contracting office intends to include�a sole source requirement in construction solicitation W50S87-21-B-5005 for the Add/Alter Small Air Terminal project.� This requirement is for a parachute lift system, manufactured and installed by ParaDry Systems�in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) ""When the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source."" ParaDry Systems�has been identified by the architect and engineering firm who designed the project as the only source who can provide a parachute lift system that is capable of operating effectively within the restrictions of the project.� Due to the location of the project in relation to the airfield, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) maximum height for the parachute drying tower is limited.� There is an allowance between the building as designed and the maximum height allowed by the FAA.� This allowance is used for variations in obstruction lighting, antennae, and other roof mounted devices, and does not allow for a service platform to be placed above the system, which is commonly used in other parachute lift systems.� The ParaDry Systems parachute lift system can be rasied and lowered internally, eliminating the need for a service platform above the system. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of� the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in preparation of any capabilities statements or documents prepared for this notice. NOTE: If documents are sent via e-mail, the contractor will be responsible for validating Government receipt by contacting the Contracting Officer Zachary Leddy at zachary.leddy.2@us.af.mil. No solicitation is available and telephone requests for information will not be taken.
