- STATEMENT OF NEED Web Based Medical Code Tool Background: VHA Office of Community Care (OCC) requires a source for web-based medical code look-up tool. OCC requires a source for validating and ensuring accuracy of medical codes when bills arrive. Validated bills result from accurate review and processing. Scope: The primary purpose of this contract is to have a source for validating and ensuring accuracy of medical codes when claims are received. Will ensure coding accuracy, improve billing performance and reduce rejected claims. This multi-license subscription will save time and money by providing real time content updates so that OCC s claims processing departments can code confidently throughout the year. Technical Specifications: Annual subscription for web based on-line access comprehensive search application tool for all CPT®, HCPCS, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, and PCS code sets and Optum and Medicare coding guidelines to ensure coding accuracy, improve billing performance and reduce rejected claims Requirements: The contractor shall follow and meet all requirements and technical specifications as outlined in this statement of need. Contractor shall submit a quote in accordance with this statement of need as well as the pricing schedule that has been provided as an attachment. Please be advised the exact number of licenses will be provided to the contractor prior to exercising each option year (i.e. as you can see the Base Year requires 320 licenses). However, a minimum and maximum range of licenses has been set to at least give the contractor an idea on how to price the options years for the initial quote submission. Base Year: 320 Annual licenses OY 1: Min 250 - Max 700 OY 2: Min 250 - Max 700 OY 3: Min 250 - Max 700 OY 4: Min 250 - Max 700 Contractor shall ensure the product they are quoting meets or exceeds all the technical specifications as listed in this statement of need. Period of Performance: The period of performance shall be 12 months (i.e. 1 year).
