The USDA, ARS, Fargo, ND location has a need for Sugarbeet GBS Genotyping-by-Sequencing Service. The unique requirements of the service are: The USDA-ARS Sugarbeet Genetics lab at Fargo ND is focusing on identifying genes conferring high sugar content, low impurity, and resistance to bio-stress and subsequently using markers linked to those beneficial genes to create new, improved sugarbeet lines toward new cultivar development. To fulfill our projects; germplasm lines were collected, and the lab will use genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to quickly identify genomic regions (genes) associated with traits of the interested in this collection. The USDA-ARS Sugarbeet Genetics lab needs to genotype all germplasms through Genotype-by-sequencing (GBS) techniques that use next-generation sequencing to generate SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) covering the whole genome of sugarbeet to detect possible variations associated with all target traits. The proposed vendor should provide the specified GBS service for DNA samples in twenty 96-well plates, included GBS library preparation and paired-end Illumina Sequencing 2 X 150 with 250 M reads per plate. The NAICS Code for the expected acquisition is 541714. Any subsequent procurement will be conducted as a commercial item purchase in accordance with FAR Part 12 and as a Simplified Acquisition Procedure in accordance with FAR Part 13.
