Description
NASA/Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) is hereby soliciting information from potential sources for the activation, operation and maintenance of a DC-8 flight simulator as described below: Manufacturer: Boeing/ McDonnell Douglas Type & Model: DC8-71F FAA ID: 366 In-Service Date: 13 Jun 05 Registration Marks: N706UP Country of Registration: USA Last Operator: United Parcel Service of America, Inc. (UPS) NASA will provide the simulator which was decommissioned, disassembled, and preserved in storage in 2009. All major components will be provided including motion/hydraulic equipment, cab/cockpit, computer hardware and software, and documentation. The visual system requires replacement/modernization. Offerors shall provide the following: Pack and Ship government furnished simulator components from Edwards, CA to contractor�s facility Provide adequate facility to assemble and operate the simulator Assemble and Activate the simulator Includes the replacement of the visual system Facilitate FAA recertification of the simulator to Level C or D Operate and maintain the simulator.� Although NASA will be primary user of the simulator, NASA is open to formulating an agreement to partner with offeror to support non-NASA customers. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) (AFRC) is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including all socioeconomic categories of Small Businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI), for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for DC-8 Flight Simulator. ��The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Women-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-owned Small Business (EDWOSB) or HUBZone business set-aside based on responses received. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on beta.SAM.gov.� Interested firms are responsible for monitoring this website for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.� Interested firms having the required capabilities necessary to meet the above requirement described herein should submit a capability statement indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort. Responses must include the following:� name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, or any category of small business, number of years in business; affiliate information:� parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime); list of customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and point of contact - address and phone number) and a rough estimate of cost. All responses shall be submitted electronically via email to Jamill Hayes and Rosalia Toberman at jamill.m.hayes@nasa.gov and rosalia.toberman-1@nasa.gov no later than 12:00pm PST on March 25, 2021.� Please reference 80AFRC21SS011 in any response.� This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.� Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation.� Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement.�
