- Description
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), intends to issue a request for proposals to construct approximately two miles of 8� game fencing along U.S. Route 83 in Zapata County, Texas.� The purpose of this project is to restrict movement of deer to prevent further spread of cattle fever ticks into tick-free areas of Texas and the United States. �Cattle fever ticks carry protozoan organisms that multiply in and destroy red blood cells in native cattle. Areas where the fencing will be installed include 14 private properties.� Memos of Understanding between property owners, the state, and APHIS are in hand. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. �The NAICS code is 238990 All Other Specialty Trade Contractors, with a small business size standard of $16.5 million. �This procurement shall be set aside for small business firms only.� The solicitation and all other documents related to this procurement will be available on the beta.sam.gov site on or after March 30, 2021.
